The following bodies function under the university; (1) the Academic Council,  (2)  the Board of  0f Management , (3)  the faculties and (4) the Board  of studies. The vice –chancellor is the principal Academic and Executive officer of the University.

      The Board of Management discharges executive functions and approves the recommendation  of the Academic  Council, the Board of studies and the faculties for academic programmes of  the  University. It takes policy decisions, makes appointments of  all teacher, exercises  control over the institutions of  the University, makes statues, creates research fellowships, scholarships,  studentships, bursaries, medals, prizes etc. The Vice-chancellor is the chairman of the Board of management and the Academic Council.

     The  Academic Council advises the Board  on all  academic matters, makes regulations  and  amends or  repeals the same, prescribes  qualification  of  teachers and for upgradation  of teaching posts and offers recommendations to the Board of  Management on academic matters. The Vice-Chancellor is assisted by the following Statutory officers namely:

            . The Finance Officer 
            . The Controller of Examinations
