Cultural Heritage and Conservation

The Department of Cultural Heritage and Conservation at the University of Utkal University of Culture is dedicated to advancing the study, preservation, and promotion of cultural heritage. The department brings together an interdisciplinary team of scholars, scientists, and practitioners who work to protect historical artifacts, landscapes, monuments, and intangible cultural heritage. We equip students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to understand and address the complex challenges of conserving cultural heritage in a rapidly changing world.

This 2-year program helps to educate and inspire the next generation of heritage professionals while actively preserving cultural heritage for the enrichment of society.

The faculty and students of the department engage in interdisciplinary research and fieldwork, uncovering and analyzing historical sites and artifacts. With ongoing projects in collaboration with cultural institution, we contribute to a deeper understanding of cultural heritage. This programme prepares students to meet the urgent need for skilled conservationists, heritage managers, and researchers equipped to safeguard these resources for the future. By studying with us, students not only gain technical skills but also develop a deep understanding of cultural significance and ethical conservation practices.
